Zounds, been a couple days, again.
Hmmm... Never wound up going to any shows friday night, but Derek and I did get some cheap beer, and shotgunned a few of them. On Saturday, Jeff and I went chair shopping, and tried to buy some old speakers for his record player, but couldn't find a pair that worked, and was cheap. Then we saw Manifest at the Soundgarden, with a band called Pathos. Pretty crazy, fun night.
Sunday afternoon, I was supposed to tattoo "scumfuck" across my friend Mark's toes, but he chickened out. I was gonna do that one for free, too. Oh well, his loss.
I'm thinking about maybe getting a little red lightning bolt tattooed above my right eye, but that'd probably destroy any legit job prospects I'll ever come across.
I'm about to go play some mini-golf at Blenkinsop now. Wheeee! Current Mood: bored

It's going to a crazy night full of drunken escapades t'night!
I haven't actually decided what I'll do just yet, though. I'll either see Strapping Young Lad, Meatlocker 7, and Explosive Rage Disorder at the soundgarden, or I'll see the Buttless Chaps and Mansmell at Thursdays...
Either way, tonights gonna be a blast.
Oh, and I got a call from Canada Customs and Revenue the other day. They want my money, but they're willing to split the $1800 into monthly payments of roughly $140, which should be pretty easy to make. I'm going to be paying this off for a while, though, as there'll be interest compounding on that until it's gone.
Scary. Soon enough, my sorrows will be good and drowned in malt liquor=D

|Hit the motherload this morning!
I found my camera! Yippee!
I figured just for the hell of it, I'd wander into my garage this morning and see if I could find any of the many things I'd lost in the move.
Somehow, my eyes fell upon a box I'd not even noticed before, though it was in a place I'd looked many times. I cleared off the top of the box and saw that it was labeled "EXTREMELY FRAGILE: Camera, lamp, action figs, etc"
So anyways, that's where my camera was, but also in that box was my old rotring art pen, so now I've got two of those;P
I also found my way-to-expensive mushroom shaped lamp, my copies of Seaman and Jet Grind Radio for my Dreamcast, some G.I. Joes, a spawn action figure, a road warrior action figure, and my 300th edition Boba Fett figure! It's like Christmas! It's better than my last Christmas!
I missed all this stuff sooooooo much! Current Mood: ecstatic
I'm bored. I have nothing to do, and not really anything to say, either, but since I have nothing to do, I'm going to write as long an entry as I can be bothered to right now.
Be warned, this is probably gonna suck hard.
Oh, I'm going to go see Strapping Young Lad on friday. That should be exciting. They're playing with Meatlocker 7 and Explosive Rage Disorder. $13 show, but I'm sure it'll be worth it.
I suppose Bryan will be here sometime tomorrow. I haven't talked to him for a couple days, but he was saying something 'bout doing some drinking Wednesday night, so I look forward to that.
Tonight I had dinner at the new Boston Pizza that just opened up today. I think they were understaffed, cuz it took about an hour to get our food.
I managed to get my scanner plugged in and working today, but I haven't actually scanned anything for my portfolio yet. Meh. I've got a year before the truly important portfolio is due, the tattoo one I can take my time with too.
The other night Derek rented the Godfather. I can't believe I made it 21 years without seeing what is considered the quintessential guy movie. I've got so many quotes from that flick memorized and ready now. My favourite, from Al Pacino: "Where does it say you can't kill a cop?"
But I digress... Or maybe I don't. You'll never know.a Current Mood: bored

I'm starting to actually like all the bizarre letters that keep appearing at the end of every one of my posts on here. I usually try to remember to hit 'return' a couple times at the end of each post, just so the random character that's generated doesn't look like it's tacked on to the last word.
I'm actually beginning to embrace them. I think it's probably a Mac thing, and probably wouldn't happen if I downloaded a client, but I'm content to leave them there. They're kind of cute.
Less than 5 more kilometers until the odometer on my car is six 2's in a row, 7 if you count the tenths!
And that's the most exciting thing to happen to me all week.
Life is a highway.

I didn't realize it'd been more than two weeks since I'd posted on here... thought it was more like 5 or 6 days... Crazy. I really haven't done much. What a dreary, dull life I lead.
I started reading Harry Potter last night, got about half way through, and then watched the movie, since I'd already managed to catch the last half of it once before anyways. It seems like the movie leaves a lot of stuff out, not necessarily anything really important to the plot, but enough little details to make it feel kind of empty. It just seems like they try to rush you right into the story, and yet it still goes on for 3 hours...
Still haven't found my damn camera. I've been looking for my box of acrylic paints, too, and that also seems to have been lost in the move. It's been over a year, and I'm still looking for all my shit.
Going golfing this afternoon with my sister, and possibly one of her hygienist friends. It will be the first time I'll have left the house in about 3 days, not since playing Risk with Bryan, Melissa, and Derek the other night.
I really do need to get some kinda job soon...e Current Mood: apathetic

Been a while since I've updated on here, but that's because it's taken me like a week to come up with something worth mentioning.
All day today I've been working on compiling a portfolio. I'm gonna try to get into the 2 year visual arts program at camosun, and for that, all I need to do is put together 25 pieces of art showing some range and growth.
I've got ten pieces I'm definitely including, and half a dozen that are currently 'maybe''s. For the rest, I figure I'll do some paintings, take a couple of pictures, maybe draw something up with some pencil crayons, and maybe do some kind of fancy crap in photoshop. At any rate, I've got way more pen & ink sketches than I need, so I've got to get some kind of diversity in there.
I spent a good hour today looking for the black portfolio that I was gonna put this stuff in, and I've finally found it, so I'm okay there. Problem is, I can't find my camera!
I've been going around in circles looking for it. I can't remember the last time I had it, and it's quite possible I left it in my van when the wrecker came and got it last November! Gah! Or it might've been in my apartment somewhere when I left it... It's definitely not in any of my boxes that I can find, and I know I haven't used it since I moved.
I still have my other, non-working camera body, and I've got my wide angle and my zoom, but my 50mm Carl Zeiss was attatched to the camera that's gone!
Oh well. I'm too late to apply this year, anyways. My portfolio would have to be in tomorrow;P

Odd... I had my login on here set to "never expire", yet somehow it did. Also, it told me that my password is too easy to guess. How the hell do they know that?
Went and looked at an apartment today with Jeff. It was in the Gorge View, not in the building I was in, but the one across from it, and the apartment itself was absolutely identical to mine.
Jeff will be moving into the Gorge View, but he'll probably check out the other units they have available first. There's something like 3 or 4 opening on August 1st.
We did some skating tonight. Jeff hadn't been on his skateboard since before he left for Australia, and I'd only been on mine maybe 3 dozen times since then. We did the ol' Walmart to the harbor run, and back again. We took the goose from Walmart down to the Johnson St. bridge, which takes about twenty minutes on a skateboard, then we cruised up past Hermans to see how badly the place had burned up. (there was another fire there this morning, apparently the second arson attempt on that building THIS WEEK!)
Then we took Blanshard straight down to the Wendy's, and ordered up some frosty's, ghetto style.
It feels good to be back on that board. Current Mood: mellow
Right this minute, I can see the helicopters from the X-Men 2 shoot doing circles above Royal roads, from my house!

|'Tis a good day for getting sauced
Went with my dad on a run with his Miata club today. It was a winery tour up island, with a stop at shawnigan lake for lunch.
We met up at the Malahat Mountain Inn. 7 Miatas were there; 2 yellow, 2 white, 2 green, and the nicest blue miata I've ever seen. The blue one had a chrome roll bar, chrome gas cap cover, and really neat cutouts over the taillights.
The first stop was the Merridale Cidery, where after the tasting, we loaded up on cider. We spent over 30 bucks there, and came out with 7 bottles. Excellent cider out of that place. Their scrumpy'll knock ya on your ass, and they've got a "cyser" that's made with honey and is sooooooo tasty.
We had lunch at a place called the galley, and it was totally mediocre. Their clam chowder might have been campbell's.
Then we went to the blue grouse winery, and proceeded to drink more. We came away from there with another 2 bottles of wine. Afterward we stopped in cobble hill for beers.
Now I'm about to go see 'Road to Perdition'.
Yay!o Current Mood: accomplished

|God, why do I keep doing this to myself?
I sat down for an hour today and worked on the tattoo on my arm some more. It still has big spaces that need filling in, but the one side of it isn't open anymore. I've got it so it looks like the outline is finished, at least, though the outline is actually far from finished.
*spits* *almost vomits*
There would have to be two identical coffee cups sitting in front of me, wouldn't there? I was just in between thoughts, about to start the next paragraph here, and I accidentally took a sip out of the wrong coffee cup. I just drank cold, sugary dreggs from the bottom of my dad's cup from this morning. Gross!
What's worse, is that when I sat down, I saw that my cup was the same as the one that was already here, and made a mental note not to drink out of the wrong cup. I guess I have poor short term memory. I hate me. That tasted sooo disgusting. Current Mood: nauseated

|What I done since friday
Friday night... friday night... I can't actually remember back that far. Oh well. I know I did some drinking. Can't remember what else we got up to. I remember crawling into bed at about 5:30 Saturday morning, and Bryan was back at my place 5 hours later;P
Saturday night, Derek dragged me out to some crappy free rave way out in the depths of Sooke. He bought me a 40 of colt, which he spilled half of on the floor of my car, and he paid for the gas, so it wasn't that unbearable. It was exactly the same, in almost every respect, to the only other rave in the woods I've been to. Raves suck, I'm going to do everything in my power to NOT go to another.
Didn't get to sleep till about 5:30 again on Sunday morning, and Jeff called me 5 hours later, to go for coffee. So, I got up, we went for coffee, then headed to Hillside to check out Bolen books, and pretty much spent the afternoon wandering around the mall.
I had meant to clean my car on Sunday (the logging road out to the rave was over 12 km long, and very dusty) but was too tired to much other than drink coffee.
Sunday night, I went out with my dad and little brother to go see Men in Black II, and it's really not as bad as the reviews tend to make it out to be. There were some really funny gags, most notably the inhabitants of locker C18 in grand central station.
I actually got a full nights sleep last night, and now I'm about to go to the beach, and do some skimboarding with my sister. Whee!
Oh, and I haven't smoked a cigarette in a week now! Go me!

I am soooooooo bloody sick today. I can't believe I came down with a cold that suddenly, but I'm grateful I felt good last night.
My Canada day kicked ass. Big Sugar are awesome live. Derek and I were in the mosh pit, and he somehow wound up with a can of Kokanee.
"Look what fell into my hand!" He hollered at me with much enthusiasm.
He also did some crowd surfing, and got dragged aside by security.
I didn't see everyone I knew, but came pretty close to it. On the way back, we stopped at the beer store next to Swans, and made a huge ruckus in there. The lineup to pay stretched across the entire store, and everyone in there was being loud and beligerant, myself included.
Today, though, I feel like crap. About 7 this morning I started blowing my nose like every two minutes. I am now drinking green tea, and have an insatiable craving for Olympic View's seafood chowder. Current Mood: groggy

|Happy Canada Day!
Heading downtown shortly, gonna try and catch Big Sugar, and otherwise just get drunk and noisy in public.
Happy Canada Day! Whoo!÷
|Sunday, June 30th, 2002|
Nope, can't remember anything from Friday night up till about Saturday night sometime. Oh well.
Today, Jeff and I went to the Old Bailey to try and catch the soccer game, but just missed the end by about two minutes. We wound up having a few pints, playing some pool, and grabbing lunch there. Then we wandered down to Old Nicks to see if Old Nick was done with a Rose Tattoo lp that Jeff had loaned him, but he wasn't. Apparently, he's gonna scan the cover for a t-shirt or something.
Then to Future Shop, so Jeff could get back the $300 he put down on that computer, and then went to Sneakers so he could buy another, but in the end, he just decided to wait another couple weeks.
Pretty mellow day so far. Tomorrow will be crazy, though. Gonna go to the 4:20 at Beacon Hill, then at 9 check out Big Sugar on the parliament lawn, see the fireworks, and then find someplace to go get drunk. Canada Day ! Whoo! Current Mood: content

Just took a bunch of bottles back this morning, more for the sake of killing time than anything else, but to my surprise, I got over 10 bucks back for them. I had no idea I had so many, and I've still got a bunch in my car too.
Manifest tonight! That reminds me, gotta find out how much cover is. I can't imagine it being more than 3 bucks, as it is only two bands, and it's at Diablos.
And Bryan's coming over! Yippee!

This surprised the hell outta me. I thought I was more of a leg kinda guy.
It's bloody hot out there today.
Jeff and I got coffee at the Moka House in the Cook st. village today, then went to Future Shop where he applied for, and was denied, a Future Shop credit card. Instead, he wound up putting a $300 deposit down on a cheap computer. I saw a cool in-car dvd player there that I'm determined to get a job and save up for. I just need to get together $2200;P
We found a british pub downtown after that, and watched the end of the soccer game, too. Brazil is going to the final. Beer and weather like this makes for one interesting drowsy combination. I've had like 4 cups of coffee since, and I'm still not in any mood to be moving around.
I think I'll go find some place cool to just lie down until Derek calls.ÿ Current Mood: drained
